Breaking News: Mesa Captures Conference Championship

Last season the men's water polo team battled through growing pains. Many first year players were new to the sport, and coaches had to teach the basics while trying to blend them with seasoned water polo athletes. Head Coach Scott McCollum even admitted they were not sure a team would form in the fall.

This year everything changed. The Olympians defeated Grossmont College 19 to 12 on Saturday to capture the 2025 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title.

Freshman Kyle Fox led the scoring once again with 6 goals. Santiago Gonzalez delivered 6 assists, 4 steals, and 5 points. Barrett Satre added 4 goals along with 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Trevor Kula finished with 2 goals, 4 assists, and a block. Connor Sharman and Gabe Larson each scored one.

Goalie Riser Lundeberg played the entire match and made 10 saves to hold off the Griffins attack.

The Olympians play next on Friday, November 14 at the 2025 3C2A SoCal Regionals against Mt San Antonio College at Southwestern College.
