Women’s Basketball Earns First Conference Win Over Cuyamaca College

The Mesa women's basketball team captured its first conference win on Wednesday, defeating Cuyamaca College 81–43.

After dropping their first two conference games, the Olympians are still positioned to make a strong push toward the title. Mesa currently holds a 9–10 overall record and stands at 1–2 in the PCAC.

Maleah Porch led the Olympians  finishing with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and a block. Stevie Lundquist also delivered with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Valerie Marquez continues to make an impact, adding 16 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals, while leading all players with 15 rebounds, six on the offensive glass.

Off the bench, Rylie Willis added 8 rebounds (6 offensive) along with 4 points, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

Mesa enters am important stretch of four consecutive conference games. The Olympians will host MiraCosta College on Friday, January 16, before traveling to Southwestern College on Wednesday, January 21. Mesa returns home to face Imperial Valley College on Friday, January 23, and closes the month with a road matchup against San Diego City College on Friday, January 30.
