San Diego Mesa College Baseball is proud to announce that sophomore infielder Alejandro Leyva-Ramos has been recognized as the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) Gold Glove Award recipient, honoring him as the top defensive player in the conference.
A graduate of Morse High School, Leyva-Ramos was the leader of the Olympians' defense throughout season. In 42 games, he recorded 219 total chances, 80 putouts, 130 assists, turned 23 double plays, and finished the year with a .959 fielding percentage.
At the plate, Leyva-Ramos hit .389, drove in 19 RBIs, scored 39 runs, and stole 13 bases.
