Mesa's President, Athletic Director and VP take on ALS Challenge

The Athletic Director of Pasadena City College threw the glove down and challenged all of Califoronia's community college athletic directors to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  Mesa's own AD, Dave Evans didn't hesiitate to answer the call and he took college President, Pam Luster and VP of Instruction, Tim McGrath down with him.  All three took center stage on the lawn of the LRC in front of a very enthusiastic crowd which was full of student-atheltes, counselers, faculty and staff members all who where straining to get a glimpse of the now infamous "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge."  The Mesa Women's Volleyball team where given the honors of dumping five gallons of ice water onto Dean Evans, President Luster and VP McGrath. Right before his impending ice bath, McGrath gave a moving speech about how he has personally been touched by ALS as he had lost a close friend that same week and lost his grandfather to ALS some years before.  In response to their challenge, President Luster paid the challenge forward to all the other California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) executive board members which included seven other college presidents to the challenge as well the head of the CCCAA, Carlye Carter.  In addition to completeing the ALS challenge, everyone also made a private donation to the ALS fund.
