Olympians Water Polo Splits in Santa Monica

October 20, 2014 - Mesa's Men's Water Polo team traveled to Santa Monica for a three team tournament which included Mesa, Saddleback and Cerritos colleges.  Mesa started off with a great victory over Saddleback.  The Olympians were led by freshman goalkeeper Brandon Jack who stopped 14 shots while only allowing six to get past him.  The Olympians were solid on their defense, stealing the ball 11 times from the Gauchos and firing off 10 goals.  Sophomore Armani Antonellis had an impressive game with a hat trick with three goals and then assisted twice, got a steal, and one field block.

A game later the Olympians tried to pick up where they left off but Cerritos College defeated Mesa 5-15 despite more strong performances from Antonellis and Jack and freshman field player, Bryan Bare.  The Olympians record is now still a strong 12-8 overall.
