Haener Earns Trip to Singles Final at the Ojai State Championships

Corentin Haener (France) went on an incredible run to finish the season and earned a trip to the singles final at the Ojai State Championships. Haener lost in the finals, 6-2, 6-3 to Ventura. Haener finished 29-3 in singles on the season and 19-9 in doubles.
He and freshman, Kimo Barrere made it to the quarter-finals of the doubles. Sophomore Tyler Luck (Australia) and freshman Scott Wheeler (Salem, Oregon) also qualified for the state championships in singles. And all three doubles teams earned trips to the State Tournament.

The Olympians finished 18-7 on the season and finished in the top 3 in the team rankings. Mesa has made the State Playoffs 7 years in a row and have won 6 of the past 7 PCAC Championships. Since 2008, the Olympians are 65-5 in PCAC play. Currently, 7 Olympians are playing at 4-year colleges and universities from the last 3 Mesa teams. "We are very proud of our success on the court but what we are most proud of is how many young men have continued playing at the 4-year college and university level," said Head Coach, Michael Hootner.
