3 Mesa Athletes Honored by PCAC

April 1, 2015 - Three of Mesa's Student-AThletes were selected by the PCAC as "Athlete of the Week" for March 29.  For the women's side, Sabrina Gonzalez, a freshman softball player, was selected after going 4-5 at the plate with 3 RBI's and 3 runs scored against Imperial Valley and then going 3-4 against Grossmont.  Her offense is part of the reason that the Olympians have been in 2nd place in the conference. 

On the men's side, sophomore Sal Nasser, won the long jump at the San Diego State Invitational with a 25'4.5" jump to beat a competetor from Fresno State University.  Baseball freshman Andrew McWilliam also got the nod from the PCAC.  McWilliams was on fire against City College hitting a 3 run homer while going 2-3.  Then in the last game of the series against City, McWilliam went 2-5 with a triple and 2 RBI's.
